500 concrete pods have been installed at the Lucknow Barracks in Tidmouth – one of the MOD’s most modern sites. These quality concrete pods are highly resilient as well as being cost-effective. For use by the NCOs, the pods have been given fully tiled floors and ceilings.

Portsmouth Hospital

Many of the NHS Trusts are undergoing huge building programmes with individual patient bedrooms and ensuite facilities becoming the optimum standard.

200 concrete pods have been installed at the Portsmouth Hospital. Just completed, these pods have tiled floors and painted walls.

Talbot Hotel

Many of our units have been installed in small independent hotels as well as in large chains such as The Holiday Inn.

The Talbot Hotel is a very smart four-star hotel in Dublin. Concrete pods have been installed in 400 of their bedrooms and then finished with high quality marble.

Universities

Universities are a major client for our fibreglass pods and we have placed over 20,000 units in the last 15 years. As with all our clients, of course, we provide ongoing service support.

The older style universities are generally upgrading the accommodation offered to students while many of the former polytechnics who have now become universities are expanding. In addition, universities are increasingly looking to the conference market during student holidays. A good standard of accommodation therefore becomes a pre- requisite.

Typically, fibreglass pods have a step up to the unit but, at the request of Strathclyde University, we provided a bespoke solution all on one level. This is an indication of how Ensuite Solutions can accommodate very specific requirements.

As a result of the expanding university market, 200 fibreglass pods were installed in Plymouth University, 280 in Strathclyde University, 400 in Glasgow University and a further 700 at Kingston University. When 600 were installed in Leicestershire De Montford University and the same number in Leeds University they were going in at the rate of 30 a week! But that figure has now been well and truly beaten. At Hertfordshire University 1600 fibreglass pods were installed in the summer break which amounts to 60 a week!

Speed of installation really isn’t an issue with these units - a major benefit in this sector with student vacations being the only opportunity for installation.
